Rice Cereal.... mmmmm

We had a dear friend, Scott, visit with us for two weeks as he was taking a class at the Seminary. He's such a joyful, gentle spirit with a servant's heart that it was really not hard for us to host, even with a 5 month old baby. Scott and his wife Jennifer have been friends of ours for almost 10 years now: they were at our wedding, we've been with them to Honduras and Slovenia, we've lived in the same apartment building in MA, etc... Special friends. Will enjoyed meeting "Uncle Scott" too, giving him some good giggles.

Tonight, Will tried his first rice cereal and didn't do so bad. The amount he ate was insubstantial, but the aim is to get his senses used to the new textures in his mouth. He's already been putting everything else in his mouth, so I don't see why a little rice cereal would cause that much reaction.

The Pediatrician recommended we try adding some "solid foods" (and I use that term very loosely) as Will has really stopped sleeping the long stretches in the evening over the last two weeks or so. Kelly feels like a first-month Mom again, and the fatigue is not good for anyone.

Anyway, it was an exciting time to feed him together. We captured it on video and in some pictures. Take a gander....

He's a beautiful baby boy, isn't he?

We're gearing up for a trip south to VA. Kelly leaves on June 12th and I'll join her a week later. Lots of changes and new surroundings to look forward to for the little guy. We're praying that all the travel details, flying especially, will go well. It will be nice to be in VA again - first time for me in nearly a year. We're already trying to brainwash Will to be a UVa fan, as this picture shows.
