The last month has been a bit of a whirlwind in the Maurer household, primarily because Geoff has returned to school hours (and cross-country after school), bringing a swift end to our spoiled summer days. Kelly's beginning another professional development class at the seminary, and Will has also started "school" - kinder-music once a week. They say that by Christmas he could know up to 50 signs. We'll see. :)

In the first week of August, Geoff was away in the Adirondacks with 21 high school freshmen and so Kelly's mother graciously came to lend a hand. Her help made it almost like a vacation for Kelly, and Will soaked up some good Busia (Boo-boo or BuBu, affectionately) time.

Will is sitting up on his own very well now, and learning how to self-soothe for naps, and not just for bed-time. He's getting better. One day soon we may experience the elusive "sleep through the night" - but for now we'll settle for 1 time up in 10 hours.

The last month has also seen Will's first time on the beach, and allowed us to get away for our first real date out since Will was born.
