For nearly 10 months, Will has communicated to us with cries, screeches, grunts, and other nondescript sounds (okay, he's saying "mama" but I'm not convinced he knows what it means). But he's unspecific no longer, for one word at least. Will started using his new sign language skills to "talk" to us regularly this weekend... can you guess what his first word was? Mom? No - but good try. Dad? Hah, no way. More? Please? Thank you? All words he'll say soon, we surmise, but not yet.
No, his first word of purposeful communication is none other than - "milk"! To make the sign for "milk," Will opens and closes his hand (like he's squeezing, uh, something).
Kelly and I were happy about this development and in awe of all he's taking in. He's really beginning to mimic many of our other movements too. We love watching him think and process.

Aw, how sweet! I love the sign-language idea with little ones. It makes them smarter. =)
Hugs to you!
Jon. Jjjjjon. Jon. drop the jaw with the "Jjjjjj" and end with "on."
