Christmas Trip, part 1

Our Christmas adventure almost came to a snow-induced halt before it began. Friday Dec 19th we left Charlottesville just as it began to snow, and snow hard. 3 hours later (normally 75 minute trip) we rolled into my Dad's house, our CRV acting like the little engine that could, plowing through 6-8 inches up their 3/4 mile, unpaved driveway.

The next morning we woke to 28 inches of snow. A winter wonderland.

Thankfully, there are few better places in which to be trapped. We all had sweet family meals, laughter and shared gifts. Here are pictures of Will with his Pops, Aunt Laura, and of course - his favorite (no offense to anyone) the dogs.

This is Will opening his newly treasured chainsaw.

By necessity, the festivities included a fair share of snow shoveling and snow hiking, too.

Stay Tuned for Part II, Roanoke and beyond.
